Tunisair Express has opened a nonstop Djerba–Tozeur service under flight number UG10, linking the country’s biggest resort island directly with the Sahara gateway. The route runs as a seasonal summer-shoulder pattern between August and September for the current cycle.
Why the route matters
Djerba and Tozeur have long been the two anchor points on any classic Tunisia trip — one for beaches and old-town wandering, the other for date palms, salt lakes and desert excursions — but the domestic connection has always been a weakness. Until now, travellers going between them had two options: an all-day 500 km drive via Gabès, or two flights via Tunis with a mandatory overnight in the capital.
The new nonstop clears that in under an hour. That opens up a genuine two-centre trip on a one-week itinerary, and makes a three-night Djerba plus three-night Tozeur split viable without wasting a whole travel day at each end. It also means cruise-ship passengers arriving in Djerba can now realistically add a two-night Sahara side-trip.
Bookings and timings
Fares have opened on Tunisair Express’s site under the UG code, with the last confirmed operational date on 2 August 2026 in current schedules — the airline is filing extensions week to week as demand firms up. Bags follow the standard 20 kg domestic allowance, which is generous compared to the low-cost European carriers most travellers arrive on. Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure at Djerba–Zarzis (DJE) and Tozeur–Nefta (TOE).
If you are combining with an international leg, book the Djerba inbound and the eventual outbound on the same PNR where possible: Tunisair Express and parent Tunisair connect through into most European gateways, and the through-check protects your bags across the domestic segment.
What we would build around it
For a first Tunisia trip: fly into Djerba, spend three nights on the island, take UG10 to Tozeur, base there for three nights with day trips to Chott el Jerid and the mountain oases, and fly out through Tunis. It saves at least one repositioning day compared with the road option.
